Primary Election Review and the Road to November 8

The votes were counted from yesterday’s primary election and the slate has been set for the November 8 General Election.

Governor Race: Josh Shapiro (D) vs. Doug Mastriano (R)

The PACA PAC supported the following PA General Assembly industry champions with a total investment of $27,500.

SENATE - ALPHABETICAL ORDER

Sen. Ryan Aument (Lancaster) - Republican Caucus Secretary & Environmental Resources & Energy Committee - appears to have won primary but counting challenges with mail-in ballots in Lancaster County

Sen. Lisa Baker (parts of Luzerne and Susquehanna Counties & Wayne and Wyoming Counties) - Labor & Industry Vice Chair - won an uncontested primary

Sen. Pat Browne (Lehigh) - Appropriations Committee Chair - too close to call at this time

HOUSE - ALPHABETICAL ORDER

Rep. Martin Causer (McKean) - Republican Policy Chair - won primary

Rep. Bryan Cutler (Lancaster) - House Speaker- won primary

Rep. Joe Emrick (Northampton) - won an uncontested primary

Rep. Keith Gillespie (York) - House Game & Fisheries Committee Chair- lost primary

Rep. John Hershey (Perry) - Member of Appropriations & Government Oversight Committees- lost primary

Rep. Kate Klunk (York) - Member of Labor & Industry and Rules Committees- won primary

Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (Lehigh) - Aggregate Advisory Board Member & Government Oversight Committee Chair - won primary

Rep. Natalie Mihalek (Allegheny) - Member of Appropriations Committee - won primary

Rep. Stan Saylor (York) - Appropriations Committee Chair - lost primary

An online meeting has been scheduled for this Friday, May 20 at 9 AM to get firsthand Hank Butler’s, PACA Lobbyist, perspective on the primary election and crystal ball the November General Election.
