Yesterday, the Department of Labor announced its final rule on reduction of silica dust exposure. The final rule creates a new program requiring metal, nonmetal operators to provide health exams at no cost to miners, similar to existing coal miners’ program.
In response to this announcement, Adele Abrams, Law Office of Adele Abrams will be dedicating a significant portion of her three-hour session, held as a breakout session during next week's Townhall Meeting in State College, as a deep dive to better help PACA members understand all of the perimeters of this final rule. As part of the session, she will provide advice on sampling strategies and much more.
Adele will also be covering the surface mobile equipment safety rule as part of this session as well.
This session will take place on April 25th from 8-11 AM at Toftrees Golf Resort in State College.
If you are already registered for the Townhall Hall meeting and wish to attend this breakout session as alternative to the sessions scheduled for the Townhall (agenda here), please contact Kallie Kline so that we may have a count for room setup.
If you are not registered for the Townhall, but wish to attend this session only, please register here.
Registration for the Townhall Meeting, Golf Outing and this session will close this coming Monday, April 22nd.
