The increase in scaling from this past winter’s weather has reminded us of the need to properly specify exterior concrete and for contractors to finish and cure it properly. All too often when either of these do not occur, our materials and our producers take the blame and many times the cost.
In 2022, PennDOT required that 60% of their finishers be certified according to one of the two programs that PACA offers.
To date, PACA has provided education and certification to over 2000 Pennsylvania concrete finishers. While this has helped to reduce the occurrence of durability issues, there are an equal number of finishers and specifiers who still need to hear the message, and it has been a challenge to reach them.
To protect your concrete that is placed this year from next winter, we have scheduled three regional classes for finishers and specifiers.
The finishers who attend and pass the certification exam will receive their lifetime NRMCA Exterior Flatwork Finisher Certification.
The specifiers who attend will receive 8 PDH hours.
These classes will bring together regional contractors and specifiers, learning together, to bring meaningful improvements to their projects. This is an opportunity for those who specify and work with your materials to receive this valuable education and certification close to where they live and work.
